“I’m in awe of their generosity,” said Mark Graveline, coordinator of Youth Ministry for the Saginaw Diocese. “For us to be able to put on a high-quality event for kids and not have any financial limitations for them to be able to participate, that’s huge. We can say, ‘Bring as many friends as you want.’ It opens up a lot of doors for evangelism.”
Support from the Bishop Untener Fund helps make it possible for area youth to attend MYE Faith, a day-long extravaganza that draws hundreds of teenagers to Saginaw Valley State University. Highlights of the most recent event included a Mass lead by Bishop Cistone, several respected keynote speakers, and a concert by JJ Weeks Band. Though the event’s budget was almost $150,000, there was no charge for any of the youths or their parishes, thanks to contributions from donors.
