Priest & Seminarian Endowments

 

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan is proud to support the education and development of priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Saginaw!

 

The CCFMM endowments have contributed $1,437,045 towards seminarian education and development over the last 16 years and $211,063 is expected to be disbursed in 2022. Currently endowed funds for seminarian education total more than $4,855,800.

Arthur J. Sequin Endowment for Seminarians (2008) 

This fund provides financial assistance to seminarians to help them pay for the costs of their seminary education.

Beatrice Bertrand Endowment for Seminarian Education (2005)

This fund provides assistance for the education of seminarians.

Berberovich Advised Endowment for Seminarian Education (2006)

This fund provides assistance to the education of seminarians from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Saginaw, Michigan, at any point in their seminary education. If there are no students available to receive the disbursement, it will then be used to maintain and preserve the Sanctuary of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Saginaw, Michigan.

Bishop Robert J. Carlson Endowment for Seminarians (2005)

This fund provides support to the education of seminarians and graduate student priests of the Diocese of Saginaw in Michigan.

Bishop’s Charity Golf Classic Endowment for Seminarian Education ( 2008)

This fund supports the education of seminarians for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saginaw.

Edward and Marie Abele Memorial Scholarship (2020)

 Applicants must be residents of Saginaw, Bay or Midland counties; students attending a Michigan university/college; primary criteria will be students between the ages of 16-30 years of age; who are diligent and sincere practitioners of the Roman Catholic faith; non-seminarians at any public or private college/university within the US; or residents of any of the 11 counties of the Diocese of Saginaw if attending any Roman Catholic seminary anywhere. Scholarship amount TBD.

Ellen Kelly Memorial Endowment for Seminarian Education (2013)

This fund supports the education of seminarians in the Diocese of Saginaw.

Fr. Charles L. Ganley Memorial Endowment for Priests and Seminarians (2009)

This fund provides assistance for the retirement needs of priest not covered through traditional sources. This fund can also provide assistance to the educational and necessary incidental expenses of seminarians not covered through traditional sourceds.

Fr. John Thome Endowment for Seminarian Education ( 2013)

This fund provides support for the educational purposes for people being educated for the priesthood.

Fund for Education of Priests for the Diocese of Saginaw (2006)

This fund provides support for the on-going educational formation of diocesan clergy. (This assumes that all clergy have a Master’s degree in Divinity or Theology) Educational formation which includes but is not limited to the sabbatical and D. Min and JCL programs.
