Information Privacy Statement

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan (or “CCFMM”) respects and protects the privacy rights of all individuals that use ccfmm.org website. Any personally identifiable information that is provided on the website will be kept private and only used for its intended purposes and to fulfill the mission and direction of the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan. The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan relies on the clients to represent that any content they send is their own content, accurate, and that they have copyright permission to use it. Faith Magazine subjects review contents of articles before publication to affirm accuracy.

This Information Privacy Statement will fully disclose our policy about the collection, maintenance, use, disclosure, and security of personally identifiable information obtained from users of the website. By personally identifiable information, we mean a user’s name, address, email address, telephone number, financial information or any other information that can be used to contact an individual, or which is identifiable of a specific individual (“Identifiable Information”). The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan uses commercially reasonable measures to protect Identifiable Information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, or alteration.

Identifiable Information

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan may provide access to Identifiable Information to CCFMM employees and contractors who have a need to know and have confidentiality obligations to the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan. The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan may also disclose your Identifiable Information as required by applicable law or pursuant to a subpoena, order and/or request of a court or other governmental, legislative, or regulatory body. Lastly, the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan may modify your Identifiable Information such that it is not identifiable as yours, and the CCFMM may store, analyze, manipulate, aggregate, display, disclose, distribute, retain, and otherwise use such unidentifiable information without restriction. The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan may distribute unidentified information and aggregated statistical information for research and reporting purposes. Except as provided above, your Identifiable Information will not be disclosed, sold, traded, or rented to any third parties.

The CCFMM’s obligations under this Information Privacy Statement do not apply to any information or data that: (a) is not identifiable as yours; (b) is or becomes entirely in the public domain; (c) was known to the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan prior your provisioning of information or data; (d) received lawfully from a third party through no breach of any obligation of confidentiality owed to you; and/or (e) created by the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan independently of its access to or use of your Identifiable Information.

 

Security

The security of the website, server and other computer equipment used to bring you the website is a high priority of the CCFMM. We maintain the website and all associated data with technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect against loss, unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, modification, and improper disclosure of all information under diocesan control.  The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan follows reasonable industry-standard security procedures such as restricted access to underlying machines, and firewalls at network access points. However, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of the Site or database, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to use through the Internet. To assist with maintaining your privacy, the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan requires you to keep any usernames and passwords you use to access the Internet and the Site strictly confidential.

 

Technical Information

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan will collect certain technical information from your computer when you access or use the website. Below we have summarized this technical information:

Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses are identification numbers assigned to a user’s computer by its Internet Service Provider each time the user logs onto the Internet or are permanently assigned if a user has an open connection to the Internet.

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan maintains standard web logs that record basic information about visitors to the website. Our web logs contain the following information:

The type of browser you are using when you access the website, for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.;

The type of operating system you use, for example, Windows 10;

Your location through geo-location services;

The Internet domain from which you access the website and/or the address of the website you linked here from; and

The date(s) and time(s) you visited the website, and the pages you viewed and/or functions you used while you were at the website.

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan does not try to identify individuals or otherwise collect Identifiable Information from IP addresses or web log information. IP addresses and web log information are used by the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan to, among other things, administer the website, help diagnose technical problems, to track and analyze aggregate data associated with the website, to design the website, identify popular features, and in similar ways, the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan may aggregate IP addresses and/or web log information, and may store, analyze, manipulate, display, disclose, distribute, retain and otherwise use such unidentifiable information. The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan may also provide IP addresses and/or web log information to law enforcement agencies if someone tries to alter, impair, or destroy the Site or use it in an unauthorized or illegal way.

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan currently uses cookies to recognize your browser or device, learn more about your interests, and provide you with relevant communications.

The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan has provided links to other sites on the website, including but not limited to, links you may find useful, to facilitate donations, or enable transactions to be processed through the CCFMM Donation site. These sites have different privacy policies, and you should be aware of each website’s privacy policy before providing any information to those sites. CCFMM is not responsible for any information you provide to sites that we have provided links to. The Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan uses CommunitySuite of Foundant Technologies to facilitate donations. CommunitySuite uses Stripe, a credit/debit card processor to accept donations. The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.

The right to rectification: You have the right to request that the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure: You have the right to request that the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing: You have the right to request that the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing: You have the right to object to the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
