Mark really looks forward to it and, for his ability to understand, they’ve been able to get through to that degree that I feel is something for us as parents.
Brain damaged since birth, Mark King was just 14 years old in 1972 when he joined Sister Elaine Raymond for the start of a new Special Religious Education Ministry (SPRED). For more than 40 years, together with a growing number of SPRED participants and volunteer catechists, they’ve embarked on a journey of friendship, love, and a deepening relationship with Christ.
It’s a journey for which Mark’s mother is forever grateful. “I’ve always felt very humble for the sake of all those workers and Sister herself who have always been so involved in the program,” says Carol King.
