James Cardinal Hickey once commented on his vocation, “the story of a happy, happy priest who simply wants to tell the whole world that the priesthood of our Church is a truly important way to serve God, and a way of life on which our Catholic people – indeed our world – depend so much.”. This passion inspired Bishop Robert J. Carlson to create the James Cardinal Hickey Endowment Fund for Seminarian Education. The fund’s purpose is to assist in the education of seminarians in the Diocese of Saginaw, in hopes that they, too will experience the happiness of being a priest. The fund is open to contributions from anyone at anytime.
