General Catholic School Scholarships
The Catholic School Scholarship (HS & E/MS)
To provide scholarships for students – based on financial need – who wish to attend a Catholic school within the Diocese of Saginaw

The Jane M. Meeker Scholarship (HS) – Parish Specific
For students who are members in good standing of St. Mary Cathedral Church. Awards will be determined based on a given student’s academic ability. Scholarships may be awarded to students enrolled in a Catholic High School for high school tuition.

The Val and Julie Kostrzewa Scholarship (HS) – Parish Specific
For Catholic school high school education for students who are St. Josaphat Church parishioners.

Nouvel Catholic Central School Scholarships
The Aarol (Bud) and Elaine Irish Scholarship (HS)
To provide financial aid to students to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School based on financial need.
If there are multiple qualified applicants the scholarship may be split. The scholarship amount will be determined in 2025.

The Barbara Shaffran Scholarship (E/MS)
To offer tuition assistance to any student attending Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary School, previously known as St. Thomas Aquinas School, on the basis of financial need.
The scholarship amount will be determined in 2025.

The Cox/Bongreen Scholarship (HS)
Scholarships will be awarded to one young man and one young lady.
Students receiving the scholarship are observed to be: Demonstrating their full potential academically; living and sharing the Christian ideals and values of respect and responsibility; involved in extra-curricular activities directly related to school.

The Dan and Arlene Kunitzer Memorial Scholarship (HS)
To offer tuition assistance to any student attending Nouvel Catholic Central High School, on the basis of financial need.

The Francis R. Reh Memorial Scholarship (HS)
For scholarship assistance for students wishing to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School and who meet the following criteria in this order of priority:

- Students affiliated with a Catholic Parish located on Saginaw’s East Side

The Henry Penzkofer Scholarship (Freshman Only HS Scholarship)
For eighth grade students at Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary School, previously known as St. Thomas Aquinas School, who wish to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School The scholarship may be used for books, uniforms, and comprehensive fees for students attending Nouvel Catholic Central High School.
If there are multiple qualified applicants the scholarship may be split. The scholarship amount will be determined in 2025.

The Holy Spirit of Christ Scholarship in honor of Philip C. Richards (HS & E/MS)
For scholarships for Catholic children to attend the Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, Nouvel Catholic Central, who are not financially able to afford a Catholic education; OR for scholarships for non-Catholic children to attend Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, Nouvel Catholic Central, who are not financially able to afford a Catholic education;

The Holy Spirit of Christ Scholarship in honor of Dick and Angela Wolohan (HS & E/MS)
For scholarships for Catholic children to attend the Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, Nouvel Catholic Central, who are not financially able to afford a Catholic education; OR for scholarships for non-Catholic children to attend Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, Nouvel Catholic Central, who are not financially able to afford a Catholic education;

The John Andrew Heinen Memorial Scholarship (HS)
For student(s) seeking financial aid to attend to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Student(s) must demonstrate Christian values and maintain a minimum 2.25 GPA.
If there are multiple qualified applicants the scholarship may be split. The scholarship amount will be determined in 2025.

The Kate and Dan Zielinski Scholarship (HS)
Students from St. Josaphat Parish will be given first priority. Students must be registered at Nouvel Catholic Central High School and must be deemed living and sharing the Christian ideals and values of respect and responsibility. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and must be involved in extracurricular activities directly related to school and church.

The Lilian and Harold Wagner Scholarship (HS)
Students receiving the scholarship are observed to be exhibiting a solid academic performance, maintaining at least a 2.5 gpa average, deemed as living and sharing the Christian ideals and values of respect and responsibility, truly demonstrate financial need

The Marguerite L. Jochen Memorial Scholarship (HS)
For students who are accepted and enrolled at Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Financial Need will be a factor in selecting recipient(s) Criteria for selection of candidates include: Demonstrated Christian values and scholastic achievement and leadership potential. Recipients will be eligible to reapply each year as long as they maintain a minimum gpa of 2.25 or better as a student at Nouvel. It is the hope that the scholarship will support up to four students per academic year – freshman, sophomore, junior and senior.

The Marsha Porath Advised Scholarship (HS)
For Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary School students to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Student demonstrates a financial need and has demonstrated and plans to demonstrate future service to the community. Student must submit an essay to the scholarship committee which talks about his or her service and future service plans and a student with a 3.5 GPA or higher will be given preferential consideration.

The Martin Gembrowski Family Advised Scholarship (HS)
For a student who attends Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Student must be nominated by their current Catholic school or home parish. The student must demonstrate that they are active in their Catholic Faith. Student must provide a written letter which illustrates good reasoning for requesting financial assistance. Scholarship money must be used for tuition, books, fees, or other educational materials.
The scholarship is $1,000 and RENEWABLE for each year the student attends NCC.

The Michael S. Leahy Scholarship (HS)
The student(s) chosen to need to be of a good moral character demonstrating their full potential both inside the classroom and out. The student(s) should possess good study habits with a desire to learn. Financial need will be a consideration. The student need not be of the Catholic faith. First priority will be given to minority students.

The Nansen J. DiMercurio Scholarship (Freshman Only HS Scholarship)
For a student who will be enrolled in his/her freshman year at Nouvel Catholic Central. The student will be of good moral character, an average student, and in financial need.

The Osthelder Foundation Scholarship (HS)
For students to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School based on financial need.

The Reverend Michael J. Bell Memorial Scholarship (Freshman Only HS Scholarship)
For incoming freshman students at Nouvel Catholic Central High School who are of the Catholic faith and truly demonstrate financial need.

The Rose Watson Scholarship (HS)
For students wishing to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Aid will be given on the basis of financial need

The Saginaw County League of Catholic Women Scholarship (Sophomore, Junior, Senior HS Scholarship)
For students who have completed one full year at Nouvel Catholic Central High School and who will be attending the school the following year. Aid will be given on the basis of financial need. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA

The Shannan Marie Thompson Memorial Scholarship (HS)
Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary school, previously known as St. Thomas Aquinas grade school, student who’s an incoming Freshmen enrolled at Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Financial need is a factor. Other criteria for selection include: demonstrated Christian values, scholastic achievement and leadership potential.
It is the family’s wishes that the scholarship support two incoming freshmen from Nouvel Elementary per academic year, Two scholarships of $1,000 per year.

The Smith Family Advised Scholarship (HS & E/MS)
To fund scholarships to Nouvel Catholic Central High School students. To funds scholarships to the other Saginaw Area Catholic Schools such as Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary school. Students will be awarded based on the following criteria: students demonstrate financial need, the student is enrolled at one of the Saginaw Area Catholic Schools such as Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary or High school.

The Smith Family Scholarship (HS & E/MS)
To fund scholarships to Nouvel Catholic Central High School students. To funds scholarships to the other Saginaw Area Catholic Schools such as Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary school. Students will be awarded based on the following criteria: students demonstrate financial need, the student is enrolled at one of the Saginaw Area Catholic Schools such as Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary or High school.

The Sr. Alan Thomas Scholarship (Sophomore, Junior, Senior HS Scholarship)
For students who have completed one full year at Nouvel Catholic Central High School and will attend the school the following year.

The Stanley J. Devoir Scholarship (HS)
For students to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School based on financial need.

The Student Financial Aid Scholarship (HS)
For students to attend Nouvel Catholic Central High School based on financial need.

The Timothy C. McInerney Scholarship (HS)
For students registered at Nouvel Catholic Central who are graduates of a Catholic grade school AND who have the recommendation of the staff of that grade school. The students must have an average GPA and can demonstrate financial need. The student must demonstrate interest in science, with top consideration to students studying Biology.

The Thomas F. James Memorial Leadership Award Scholarship (HS)
For a student in each of the sophomore, junior, senior classes at Nouvel Catholic Central High School. The student will be guided by Christian values, has demonstrated leadership ability in school and/or the community. Award winders names will be placed on a plaque, and they will receive a savings bond with the face value of no less than $50.
